A long time ago in another galaxy, the powerful Xeadrium Seeds were spread throughout the universe. The wandering giant of light, Ultraman Xead, has come to Earth in search of a Xeadrium Seed in order to secure it from the power of darkness. On his way to Earth, however, he encountered an EX Tyrant on Uranus and manages to kill it. While on the Earth he disguises as Shu Itazura (悪戯種 Itazura Shu?), who wanders Tokyo and collects UltraStamps from various post offices.
